We have three choirs:
- Goulbourn Jubilee Singers (GJS) for adults 16 and older
- Junior Jubilees (JJs) for children 8-13
- GJS Teens for teens 13 to 16
We have choir options for any age 8 to 88, or older.
Goulbourn Jubilee Singers
Our adult choir, aged 16 years or older, has soprano, alto, tenor, and bass voices. Typically, we sing in four-part harmony and have tackled as many as 10 parts! Our two concert series per year will feature one or two songs with female or male only parts and several massed choir pieces with the children and youth.
GJS Teens is open to youth aged 13 to 16 and are a recent addition to our family of choirs. Established in 2014, this choir gives our older Junior Jubilees an opportunity to continue to develop musically and to mentor the younger choir members.
Members of the Junior Jubilees, this smaller group, have a separate rehearsal to tackle a more challenging repertoire better-suited to maturing voices.
Junior Jubilees is open to children aged 8 to 13 who rehearse for one hour weekly. JJs have many opportunities throughout the year to participate in musical events and are regular participants in Music Monday, an annual event held the first Monday in May that brings children from across Canada together to sing the same song at the same time.
In 2013, the Junior Jubilees joined the Jerry Granelli Trio (original Vince Guaraldi Trio member) in a live performance of Charlie Brown’s Christmas to benefit the Ottawa International Children’s Festival.
In 2014 all three choirs took part in re-enacting the 1914 Christmas Truce at the Canadian War Museum.
